slippery rock in bloom

USA Weekend -
Make a Difference Day

October 26 and 27, 2013

WOW!  What a Weekend!

On Saturday, forty volunteers showed up to plant 7000 bulbs (tulip, hyacinth, crocus and allium) in Memorial, Gateway and Roxy Park, and in fourteen pots throughout town.  Plus there was weeding, sweeping and general clean-up as well.  Thanks to all our volunteers - SRU's Kappa Delta Pi and Golden Key; and t the many other volunteers:  Bonnie Sargent, Sharon Isacco, Debbie Bryan, Michele Shaffer, Brian, Michelle and Levi Ringler, Karen McDowell, Tom McPherson, Nate and Blake Mercer, Judy Hughes, Carly Campbell, Addison Steele and Brad Smith!

On Sunday, Judy Hughes, Tom McPherson and the guys from SRU's Sigma Tau Gamma spent the morning cleaning debris off the streets of Slippery Rock and hauling it away.

Thanks to Slippery Rock Development, Slippery Rock Rotary, Jeff Berta of Always Summer Herbs, and Inferno Pizza (yum, yum) for their support for the event!
